Paris and Avignon 8 days / 7 nights


	Day 1-Paris Arrive at your hotel in the historic city centre; remainder of the day at leisure. Day 2-Monuments of Paris This morning’s small group minibus tour introduces the main sites of the city; Place de la Concorde, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Latin Quarter, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower and Monmartre. Day 3 & 4-Paris at Leisure Two full days to explore your Paris-choose a guided tour of the Louvre Museum or the Musée d’Orsay or an excursion to Versailles. Or simply stroll and enjoy the romance of the city. Day 5-Avignon Travel by TGV train from Paris to Avignon in under 3 hours. Visit the ‘Palais des Papes ’ an architectural ‘tour de force’ where an opulent palace overlaps a sober fortress. Dance on the Pont St. Benezet! Visit the great covered market, a feast for the senses and pick up a selection of cheeses and charcuterie for an impromptu picnic. Day 6-Luberon Villages Explore the most beautiful villages in Provence. Marvel at the vibrant scenery of the village of Roussillon, adored by artists for its striking palette of colours. Relax in the charming streets of Bonnieux and search for handicrafts at the outdoor Provencal market. Take in the breathtaking scenery at Gordes. Day 7-Arles Drive south to Arles to stand in the middle of one of the bestpreserved Roman monuments in France-the amphitheatre "Les Arenes" where bullfights carry on the ancient tradition. Why not enjoy a glass of pastis at the Café de la Nuit, made famous by Van Gogh. Day 8-Departure Self transfer to Marseille airport for departure or continue on to the French Riviera.
