Day 1-Rennes
/ Evron-Mezangers
Arrival at the Rennes airport and pick up your rental car. Before
heading to the first hotel, visit the city of Rennes, a classified
city of art and history and it’s Historic Center: the
“Parlement de Bretagne”, the timber frame houses,
the Basilica Saint-Sauveur, the Saint-Yves Chapel and so much
more. Then head to Evron-Mézangers, to the Relais du
Gué de Selle, for your first night in Brittany.
Day 2-Le Mans
Why not spend the day in Le Mans ? Classified city of art and
history, and also considered as the second most “green”
city, Le Mans offers many things to see and to do and is known
for the “24 heures du Mans”, 24 hour race for cars,
motorcycles and even trucks, known worldwide. Return to the
hotel for your last night in Brittany.
Day 3-Bayeux
Begin your drive towards Bayeux, where the next hotel is. On
your way, stop to visit Laval, another city of art and history
and admire the Château de Laval, remains of town walls
and town gate and the Cathédrale La Trinité. Finally,
arrive in Bayeux and overnight at Le Lion d’Or.
Day 4-Caen
Spend the day in Caen and visit the Château de Caen, one
of the largest fortresses of Western Europe, today a fine arts
museum. Spend the evening in Caen before
returning to the Le Lion d’Or.
Day 5-Pont-Audemer
Before departing, visit Bayeux, popular for its famous tapestry.
Choose among its varied and different museums. Don’t miss
the Cathédrale Notre-Dame and the several natural areas
such as the Jardin Botanique (botanical garden) and the Platane
de la Liberté,
a natural monument. Head to Pont- Audemer, to the Hotel Belle-Isle
sur Risle.
Day 6-Rouen
Spend the day in Rouen, the historical capital city of Normandy.
Explore the Cathédrale Notre- Dame and its Tour de Beurre
(butter tower), the 16th century astronomical
clock, Eglise Saint-Maclou and of course, the Tour Jeanne d’Arc
where Joan of Arc was tortured. Then return to the Hotel Belle-Isle
sur Risle.
Day 7-Le Havre / Paris
Spend the day in Le Havre, also known as the “Porte Océane”,
and the largest export port in France. It is also a World Heritage
Site with many churches. Return your rental
car and take the train to Paris for your last night.
Day 8-Departure
After breakfast check out of hotel. End of services or optional
extension is available. |
