Day
1 and 2-Sao Bras
Pick up rental car and drive to the regional Pousada Sao Bras
de Alportel, the first Pousada to be built in the Algarve
and the second in Portugal. It is located only 30 minutes
from Faro Airport and is the perfect place to enjoy the Algarve,
avoiding the more
crowded resort towns.
Day 3-Beja
Drive through the scenic Alentejo plains to Beja, known for
its typical architecture of the region. Overnight at historical
Pousada Sao Francisco, a former convent transformed into what
is now known as an oasis in the desert.
Day 4 and 5 Vila Viscosa
Visit the impressive Palace of the Dukes of Braganca and the
Convento das Chagas de Cristo, today converted into the historical
Pousada Dom Joao IV. The ideal base from which to explore
the characteristic Alentejo landscapes.
Day 6-Alcacer do Sal
Continue your exploration of the vast plains of the Alentejo
region; the Sado river and beautiful beaches of Troia Peninsula
and the S.Vicente coast. Overnight at the historical Pousada
Dom Alfonso II.
Day 7-Palmela
Depart to Palmela, only 30 minutes away from Lisbon. Overnight
at historical Pousada Castelo de Palmela, located within the
castle that belonged to the Order of St.James. En route explore
the towns of Setubal and Troia.
Day 8-Lisbon
Drive to Lisbon and return your rental car. Spend your last
night in the dazzling city that stretches along the banks
of the Tagus.
Day 9-Departure
Self transfer to the Lisbon Airport. Departure or optional
extension available upon request.
