Day 1-Sarlat
Upon arrival in Toulouse you will be met and transferred to
your charming hotel in Sarlat. You will spend the next 6 nights
at Hotel de Selves, centrally located and surrounded by a lovely
park. Enjoy the swimming pool and the peaceful atmosphere. Welcome
dinner and overnight.
Day 2-Beynac et Cazenac / Dordogne
Boat Ride In the morning,
enjoy a guided walking
tour of historic Sarlat, a rich merchant town of the 18th century.
After the tour head to the beautiful village of Beynacet- Cazenac
and enjoy a boat ride on the Dordogne on board an authentic
Gabarre. Arrive at the small village of Domme, a true medieval
bastide that is entered through a gate flanked by stout limestone
towers.Walking tour in the village, free time and return to
Sarlat.
Day 3-Rocamadour / Autoire / Loubressac
Begin the day on an excursion to the pilgrimage and fortress
town of Rocamadour. Visit the renowned Notre Dame Chapel, part
of an extraordinary 13th-century chapel complex perched on a
cliff and one of the most dramatic pilgrimage sites in Europe.
Continue your visit to Autoire and Loubressac, two small villages
classified as “Most beautiful
of France”. Return to Sarlat for overnight.
Day 4-Eyrignac Manor / Lascaux II / Vézère
Valley
This morning head to EyrignacManor to admire the lovely gardens,
which are among the most famous and beautiful in France. Depart
to Lascaux, where 15,000 years B.C. unknown painters created
the breathtaking cave paintings. Since the Lascaux Cave is closed
to the public, a perfect replica has been created which you
will visit. Before returning to Sarlat, drive by the Vézère
valley, known as the Valley ofMen and discover the beautiful
village of St. Léon, a hidden pearl in a curve in the
river, and is a cluster of
honey-coloured old houses joined by small alley ways. Dinner
and overnight in Sarlat.
Day 5-Sarlat
A day at leisure in Sarlat, enjoy the beauty of the city.
Day 6-Bonaguil Castle / Monpazier Village
Today discover one of the most beautiful fortified castles of
France classified as a HistoricalMonument, the castle of Bonaguil.
Afterwards departure to the lovely village ofMonpazier, a 13th
century bastide that has remained intact with its original structure,
a truly authentic jewel of medieval architecture. Tonight a
special gourmet dinner!
Day 7-Cahors / Saint Cirq Lapopie / Toulouse
Departure towards charming Cahors. Here you will admire one
of the only medieval military bridges left in Europe, the Valentré
bridge. Then, stroll with your guide through the historic city
centre and discover the imposing cathedral with its famous tympanum
depicting the Ascension Day. From there, experience unique Saint
Cirq Lapopie, an authentic village perched on the rocky bank
of the Lot valley, you will be charmed by its
Roman tiled roof houses and extraordinary scenery. Stop for
a wine tasting session
of Cahors wines. Departure for Toulouse where you will spend
your last night.
Day 8-Toulouse
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Toulouse Airport for your
return flight home. Optional extensions available upon request.
