Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Bordeaux

    Arrival in Bordeaux; pick up your car at the airport or train station Overnight in Bordeaux.

  • Day 2 - Medoc

    Follow the châteaux route where you will come across such pearls as Château Margaux or Mouton Rothschild. Visit and wine tasting in 2 famous classified growths, wine tasting at “La Winery” and return to Bordeaux.

  • Day 3 - Graves and Sauternes

    Leave your car at the hotel and meet our guide in the main square of Bordeaux, for a fully guided public wine tour.In the morning you will visit and wine taste in one of the most famous classified growth chateau of the Graves appellation. Then depart for the charming region of Sauternes to enjoy a visit and a wine tasting session in a prestigious classified growth of the appellation to know all about this legendary wine. Return to Bordeaux, overnight.

  • Day 4 - Saint Emilion/Monbazillac/Sarlat

    In the morning head towards charming Saint Emilion. Visit and wine tasting session in a classified growth Chateau of the appellation and then walking tour in the village. After some free time for lunch and personal discovery head towards the Castle of Monbazillac where you will be introduced to the local sweet white wine the area is famous for. Finally, reach Sarlat. Overnight.

  • Day 5 - Sarlat/Dordogne Valley

    In the morning, follow a guided walking tour of historic Sarlat, a rich merchant town of the 18th century. Then drive to the beautiful village of La Roque Gageac and enjoy a boat ride on the Dordogne on board an authentic Gabarre. Then reach the small villages of Beynac and Domme.Walking tour in the villages, free time for personal discovery. Overnight in Sarlat.

  • Day 6 - Padirac Abyss/Rocamadour/Eyrignac Gardens

    Set off on an excursion to the Padirac abyss, a natural, 75 metre chasm. Visit and boat ride in the Abyss. Then off to the pilgrimage and fortress town of Rocamadour. Visit the renowned Notre Dame Chapel and one of the most dramatic pilgrimage sites in Europe. Finally stop at the Gardens of Eyrignac Manor, which are among the most famous and beautiful in France.Overnight in Sarlat.

  • Day 7 - Art of the Caves in the Dordogne

    Some 15,000 years B.C. unknown painters created breathtaking cave paintings of which the most extraordinary examples are found in the Dordogne area. During this day enjoy some time in Les Eyzies where one can visit an authentic shelter or the National Prehistory Museum (optional). Continue to Rouffignac Cave that possesses original and authentic paintings. Finally,visit of Lascaux II a perfect reproduction of the original cave. Return to Sarlat and overnight.

  • Day 8 - Return your rental car.
