Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Torino

    The first capital of Italy and a very smart city, Torino is a former industrial city which now, after showcased in the Olympic Winter Games in 2006, reveals itself as a cultural city. With 4 rivers, there are many cycle paths.

  • Day 2 - Torino - Pinerolo 45 km

    The journey is flat. From Torino you cycle along the Po River, and other small rivers, on both cycle paths and on small roads which leads to the foot of the mountains. You will reach the hunting palace of Stupinigi and then the royal residence of the Savoia family (masterpiece by the architect Filippo Juvarra built in rococo style). You will pass by many parks along the river and lastly you arrive to Pinerolo, where one of the most famous schools of cavalry in Italy was formerly located. Overnight stay in Pinerolo.

  • Day 3 - Pinerolo - Cavour Saluzzo 55 km

    The journey is flat. Cycle along country roads that cross through orchards and vineyards on your way to Cavour. You will arrive in Cavour and have the chance to view the “Rocca”, a hill located in the middle of the flat, which is now a protected area. Later on, the group will get the chance to taste typical food from Piedmont in a small castle. Overnight in Saluzzo, a medieval town.

  • Day 4 - Saluzzo - Fossano - Benevagienna - Bra 60 km

    Today the difficulty level is medium/easy. On the way you can visit the very pleasant castles of Manta and Costigliole, the ancient Roman town of Benevagienna and its archeological area. After Cherasco we arrive in Bra, the capital of gourmet, where there is a "Slow Food" organization.

  • Day 5 - Bra - Pollenzo - Barolo - Alba 45 km

    The difficulty level today is medium/easy, we are in Langhe area. In Pollenzo, the Roman Pollentia, there is the University of Taste. Later, you will cycle to Alba along the river Tanaro. The journey is perfectly flat until midcourse as we must cycle up some hills to reach Barolo, where we can taste the wine in the castle (included for the group). Overnight in Alba, the town of the white truffle and of the high houses-towers. Instead of the normal course, it is possible to do the Langhe-tour (very strong) Bra - La Morra - Grinzane – Alba.

  • Day 6 - Alba - Asti 45 km

    Medium/easy difficulty level. Today we are in the Roero area. Along the way there are the castles of Guarene and Cisterna (for the group the visit of the museum of Cisterna is included). Overnight in Asti, a main town that is very rich in history. It is famous for their white wine “spumante” and the Palio (famous running of horses).

  • Day 7 - Asti - Casale 60 km

    Medium difficulty level. We cycle on the charming hills of the Monferrato, another part of the gourmet system. From Moncalvo you can see a very pleasant view over the vineyards. In the afternoon you reach Casale, a Baroque town on the foot of the hills of Monferrato along the Po River.

  • Day 8 - Casale Monferrato

    End of services after breakfast. Return to Torino by train or by private transfer.

  • Tour level

    Medium/easy; cycle paths and small roads; some dirt patches in fairly good condition; completely flat from Torino to Fossano; some easy hills in the Langhe to Barolo and in the Monferrato from Alba to Casale. Bike rental
