The Castle at Grinzane Cavour is now home to the ‘Enoteca Regionale dei Vini Piemontesi’ and the seat of the ‘Order of the Knights of the Truffle’ – two excellent reasons to visit this 13th century castle. Your route takes you on to Barolo, the village which gives its name to the great wine. Here you will visit the vineyards of Marchesi di Barolo and Cordero di Montezemolo with wine tasting (3 wines each vineyard)
Today you will drive through the village’s fragrance of Nebbiolo grapes, peaches, and strawberries, history and art; castles, fortresses and charming small villages. Tasting notes today include Roero DOC, Roero Arneis DOC and the ancient Roero Favorita.
Drive north to Casale Monferrato. This land of rolling hills covered with vineyards and dotted with castles is a region happily unexplored by conventional tourists. Your route today will take you from Alba toward Asti passing through small villages crowned with ancient castles: visit the 13th century Castello di Uviglie and its wine cellars with wine tasting and the 11th century Castle of Lignano Monferrato. Visit the typical ‘infernot’, wine cellars carved into the tufo rock and still used to store wines. Gastronomic notes; Barbera di Monferrato DOC and gorgonzola. Arrive this afternoon to Casale Monferrato for a two night stay.
Today visit The Temple of Casale Monferrato, one of the best Synagogues in Northern Italy built in 1595 and enlarged on 1866. Explore the scenic Roman roads of the Monferrato region. Our route takes us to the Abbey of Albugnano and the small medieval villages of Cortazzone and Montechiaro.
Drive to Biella for two nights stay. Biella is famous worldwide for its textile industries. It is home to companies such as Cerruti, Piacenza, Zegna and the active sportswear producer Fila, just to name a few. Today enjoy luxury shopping at outlet prices!
Meet your private guide at the hotel for 3 hours walking tour of the medieval village of Piazzo built on the hilltop of the city of Biella In the afternoon drive to the Ricetto di Candelo (a fortified village of the middle age) 10 minutes from Biella, or the Oropa Sanctuary with its Sacred Mount (UNESCO heritage site).
Departure for Lake Maggiore. Arrive in Pallanza and check in to your hotel. Early afternoon meet your guide for 3 hour private walking tour of Stresa and its Island(Isola dei Pescatori).
The whole day is dedicated to relaxation on the lake and to shopping.
