Spend the day touring the most picturesque part of Umbria. The national park ringed by the Sibillini mountains was known in the 15th century as the land of fairies and mysteries. Today you can visit ancient fortresses and enjoy spectacular panoramas as you wander the scenic routes.. Leave some time to explore Norcia’s Basilica and imposing 16th century fortress. The town is famed for its pork sausages, delicious lentils and exquisite truffles.
Beautifully situated on a hill covered with olive groves and cypresses, the mystical city of St. Francis still captivates with a special peace. Visit the magnificent double basilica to marvel at the frescoes and stroll the austere medieval streets of Assisi.
In Montefalco visit the town’s museum and shop for linen, a traditional handicraft. Visit an ancient olive oil mill for a tour and a light lunch of local specialties selected to match the mill’s oil.
